Philadelphia Water Works

Fairmount Park is one of the largest Park Systems in the country and it is surprisingly in the City of Philadelphia. The Charms of Fairmount Park consists of historic homes that were used as Summer homes for Philadelphia’s wealthy. The Fairmount Water Works, a National Historic Landmark, was built in 1820 to help provide safe drinking water to the city of Philadelphia. It is a great place for a walk to take in the beautiful architecture of these buildings that sit adjacent to Boathouse row and The Art Museum.
