The Philadelphia Flower show will be hosting their 187th event from March 2 to March 10. with a theme “Flower Power”. The flower show is the oldest and largest flower show in the world and has won the 2014 Grand Pinnacle Gold Award from the International Festival and Events Association, as the world’s top event. Visitors will enjoy over the top floral arrangements, live entertainment, culinary demonstrations, lectures, workshops and special events all week.

Designers Studio  Each year the Designer’s Studio invites the nation’s best floral designers to show to use assorted materials that are provided to create floral designs right before your eyes. The Designer’s Studio also hosts head-to-head competitions among design professionals and amateur contestants throughout the week providing a reality tv atmosphere. Visitors vote to determine the winner.

Gardeners Studio  The Gardener’s Studio, presented by Subaru, allows gardening and greening experts to share their passion with the public. Don’t miss the exciting Container Garden Challenge at 12:00 noon each day hosted by Sam Harris of Sam Harris Designs. Guests will vote for their favorite design.

Make and Take Room:  Take home a piece of the 2015 PHS Philadelphia Flower Show from the Make and Take Room (located along the Grand Concourse at the Pennsylvania Convention Center). Using materials and guidance from DIY experts, let your imagination bloom.

Wine and Spirits tastings

The Fine Wine & Good Spirits store offers free Samples of wines and liquors from the world’s finest spirit makers . It is the perfect way to begin or end your visit.

The Butterfly Experience

“The Butterfly Experience” is an interactive and educational exhibit created by California’s Sky River Butterflies bringing 30 species of butterflies – 10 domestic and 10 exotic varieties – to the Grand Concourse of the Pennsylvania Convention Center. You will see some of the most exotic, rare, and beautiful butterflies here. You will have a chance to roam among and feed the butterflies. The exhibition space will be filled with a vast selection of plants and will be heated to the right temperature to simulate the butterflies’ natural habitat. Artists will create painted environments to give a feeling of walking into the clouds with the butterflies. The Butterfly Experience is $3

Garden Tea :  Step into serene and elegant surroundings with soothing music and elegant flowers. A light and delicious menu of petit sandwiches, pastries, fruit and an assortment of fine teas will enhance your Flower Show experience Two seatings daily, 12:30pm and 3:45pm (with the exception of closing day)  Limited availability. Seating is pre-assigned. Four or five people will be seated at each table. Same day Flower Show admission is required to attend a Garden Tea. The cost is $29

Pop Up Beer Garden:  The Grand Hall of the Pennsylvania Convention Center will be transformed into the “Backlot,” of a movie production complimenting the this year’s theme “Celebrate the Movies.” A palm tree-lined red carpet will lead guests to the Pop Up Garden, offering light fare, the new PHS Hard Cider, and beer, while movies play on a large screen. The Fine Wine & Good Spirits Store will return to the Grand Hall with free tastings and a shop to purchase new discoveries. Among the special guests at the 2015 Flower Show will be film and television star Dan Aykroyd, who will sign bottles of his additive-free Crystal Head Vodka on Friday, March 6. Ethan Wayne, son of John Wayne, will sign bottles of Duke Bourbon on Saturday, February 28 and present a display of memorabilia of the Academy Award-winning actor. Christina Milian will also be signing bottles of her Viva Diva wines on Saturday, March 7.

Guests are invited to try light bites from prestigious venues and caterers such as The Rittenhouse Hotel, Franklin Institute, Jaime Hollander Catering, Reading Terminal Market and DiBruno Bros., while sipping cocktails from vendors including Chandon, Frances Ford Coppola Wine, Diageo Wines, and Cupcake Vineyards. Event attendees should expect to get the Hollywood treatment with hair and makeup trials, snap photos in a glitzy photo booth from Shutter Booth, sample sweets from Velvet Sky Bakery, The Master’s Baker, and Bredenbeck’s – and even get tips for how to work it all off from Plank Studio.
