Touring Lancaster Bed and Breakfast inns

On December 2 and 3, 2017 the Authentic Bed and Breakfast Association hosted a two day tour of 17 Bed and Breakfast inns throughout Lancaster County decorated for the holiday season.  It was a self guided tour that allows you to visit the inns on Saturday and Sunday.  Each inn served yummy homemade holiday cookies along with the recipe.  Each inn had a statue of belsnickle hidden amidst their holiday decor and the tour goers needed to find it and write down his name on their tour card to be entered into a drawing for $50 off their next inn stay.  Details on member inns can be found at

The inns did a great job hosting the tours and their hospitality was very warm and welcoming.  We didn’t have time to visit every inn on the tour but below is a highlight of some of our favorite photos:

The Inn at Twin Linden, Churchtown

This 1800’s country estate is located in the quaint town of Churchtown where the views are absolutely stunning.  As you travel down the main street toward the inn you can see Amish farms and mountains in every direction.  The inn was stunningly decorated, it actually took my breath away and the rooms were so inviting I hated to leave.  The gardens and patio in the back yard were beautiful with awesome views of Amish Farms.  I can not wait to get back here to stay for the weekend.

Hurst House, Ephrata

High on a hill smack in the middle of Amish Country the views hear are nothing short of spectacular. Their one acre lake is home to a pair of swans, ducks, fish, frogs, turtles and an occasional meal-seeking blue heron, king fisher or fish hawk. This Victorian mansion was built in 2000 to be used as a bed and breakfast.  The elegance of this inn and the elegant buy comfy rooms makes this a place you want to come to again and again.  These pictures speak for themselves.

Country Hearth B and B, New Holland

Built in 1793 with three original fireplaces, this majestic Federal Stone Colonial farmhouse is believed to have served as a stagecoach stop and traveler’s tavern.  The historic charm of this inn is what makes it so special mixing modern amenities like Jacuzzis inside the rooms while keeping the old world charm

Harvest Moon Bed and Breakfast, New Holland

What makes this inn so special is the larges suites that are offered but mostly it is Chef owner Carl Kosko who has been in the Innkeeping industry since 1986 starting at the Yankee Clipper Inn in New England as an assistant to the chef.  After many years of working as a chef he went on to own and operate his own inn in Lancaster County and has been running that since 2002.  Guests will enjoy the culinary at the Harvest Moon.

Kings Cottage offers Elegant, luxurious guest rooms with cozy fireplaces.  Enjoy a gourmet breakfast, afternoon goodies, and even a massage or decadent rose petal bath while you nibble on chocolate-covered strawberries!

Hollinger House, Lancaster

Built in 1870 by the Hollinger family, the home is furnished in local artwork and period furniture with all the modern comforts and conveniences you expect in a home away from home

Walnut Lawn Bed and Breakfast, Lancaster

old world charm combined with modern amenities make this a comfy bed and breakfast with beautiful wrap around porch to relax on.

After Eight B and B, Gordoncirca

circa 1809 colonial home with a working Amish farm right over their back yard fence. Some rooms include whirlpool baths and cottage suites are on sit..  The inn is perfect for large family reunions, sleeping 24.

We really enjoyed seeing all the inns on this tour and we appreciate the time and hospitality that was shown at each inn.
